Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

We do not sell personal information for money. However, the CCPA defines "sale" and "sharing" broadly. Certain analytics, advertising, retargeting, social media, cookie, pixel, or platform activities may be considered a sale or sharing of personal information under California law, even when no money is exchanged.

Where applicable, California residents may opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. You can review available choices on our Your Privacy Choices page, use any privacy tools made available on our website, adjust browser or device settings, or contact us at legal@celiniejourney.com.

As of the date of this notice, we do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

Sensitive Personal Information

We may process sensitive personal information only where reasonably necessary to provide requested services, process transactions, secure accounts, prevent fraud, comply with law, or operate the Services. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about California residents.

If applicable California law gives you the right to limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information, you may contact us at legal@celiniejourney.com.

Retention of Personal Information

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, fulfill orders, maintain customer accounts, provide customer support, process returns, exchanges, warranty requests, refunds, and store credit where applicable, comply with tax and legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, and support legitimate business purposes.

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information, the reason it was collected, the nature of our relationship with you, Shopify and service provider records, transaction history, legal requirements, and whether retention is necessary to protect our rights or comply with our obligations.

Your California Privacy Rights

Subject to legal exceptions, California residents may have the following rights:

  • Right to know/access: You may request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected about you, the categories of sources, the purposes for collection, use, sale, or sharing, and the categories of third parties to whom information was disclosed.
  • Right to delete: You may request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to exceptions such as completing transactions, providing requested services, detecting fraud, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, or maintaining required records.
  • Right to correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing: You may request that we stop selling or sharing personal information as those terms are defined by California law.
  • Right to limit sensitive personal information: You may have the right to limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information where applicable.
  • Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights available under California law.
  • Right to appeal or complain: Where applicable, you may appeal certain decisions or contact a privacy regulator if you believe your rights have been violated.

How to Submit a California Privacy Request

To submit a California privacy request, please contact us at legal@celiniejourney.com. Please include enough information for us to verify your identity and locate your account or order, such as your name, email address, order number if applicable, and the nature of your request.

For privacy requests related to Shopify-controlled processing, you may also use the Shopify Privacy Portal.

Verification of Requests

Before processing certain requests, we may need to verify your identity. Verification may require information reasonably necessary to confirm that you are the person about whom we collected personal information, such as matching your request details to account, order, contact, or transaction information.

If we cannot verify your identity, we may be unable to complete your request. We may also decline or limit a request where permitted by law.

Authorized Agents

You may use an authorized agent to submit a California privacy request where permitted by law. We may require proof that the agent is authorized to act on your behalf and may ask you to verify your identity directly with us. We may deny requests from agents who do not provide sufficient authorization or where we cannot verify the request as required by law.

Global Privacy Control and Opt-Out Preference Signals

Some browsers, extensions, or devices may allow you to send opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control ("GPC"). Where required by applicable law and technically supported by our website or service providers, we will treat recognized opt-out preference signals as a request to opt out of applicable sale or sharing for the browser or device sending the signal.

Because these signals are generally browser- or device-specific, you may need to enable the signal separately on each browser or device you use.

Financial Incentives

From time to time, we may offer promotions, discounts, loyalty benefits, store credit, gifts with purchase, or other benefits that may be considered a financial incentive or price or service difference under California law if they are connected to the collection, retention, or use of personal information.

Participation in promotional programs is voluntary. Any material terms will be provided with the relevant offer where required. You may withdraw from marketing communications by using the unsubscribe instructions in our messages or by contacting us. If you request deletion of personal information needed to provide a promotion, account benefit, or service, we may be unable to continue providing that benefit.

Changes to This California Privacy Notice

We may update this California Privacy notice from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, Services, Shopify platform features, privacy settings, legal requirements, or business operations. When we update this notice, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
